Domestic Presser Feet Buttonhole Foot for PFAFF

1. Mark on the fabric where you want the buttonhole to begin. 
2. Slide open the buttonhole foot at the back and clamp the button firmly.
3. Snap on the buttonhole foot.
4. Lower the buttonhole sensor lever down fully.
5. Place the fabric under the presser foot and align the start mark with the foot’s guide.  Check with a scrap what the behaviour of your foot will be to determine where to start.
6. Select an automatic buttonhole stitch.  There are different styles for different jobs.
7. Lower the needle into the starting point using the handwheel to check placement.
8. Start to sew. The machine will stitch the full buttonhole sequence and stop automatically.  The less input from the sewist, the more consistent the result.
9. Remove the fabric and trim threads.
10. Starting at either end, use a seam ripper to cut the button hole from the end to the middle, and switch to the other end, back to the middle.

Tips for Success:

• Always test on a scrap of your project fabric first.  This will help determine placement and whether extra stabilizer is needed.
• Check that the buttonhole sensor lever is properly positioned behind the plastic bracket on the foot.  Can't find it? It usually lurks behind the needle threader.
• Do not stop sewing until the machine stops automatically; if interrupted , it will need to be reset both physically and through the stitch programme to start again. 
• Try not to move or fuss as the machine is sewing, this leads to uneven results.  The only job of the sewist is to supervise and make sure the bulk of the garment doesn't pull or warp the easy movement of the machine.
